Indoor Table Tennis Table Rules
In competitions, a coin is tossed to decide which player will serve first and which end of the indoor table tennis table each player will play from. The player who wins the toss can take the choice of serve or the choice of ends. The opponent will have the other choice. Players stay at the same ends for the whole of each game, except in the deciding game, where players change ends when the first player reaches 10.
The ball must be thrown up from a flat palm and hit from behind and above the end of the indoor table tennis table. It must bounce on your half of the table, and then travel over the net to bounce on your opponent’s half of the table. If the ball touches the net, but still travels over it to bounce on the other side, the serve is taken again.
When playing doubles, you must serve the ball so that it bounces on your half of the table on the right-hand side, and then travels across the net to bounce on your opponent’s half of the indoor table tennis table on the diagonally opposite side.
